The Primary Division offers children from Senior Kindergarten to Grade 3 an exciting opportunity to discover the world of learning. The natural enthusiasm and exuberance of children at this age enhances the whole process of building the foundations of their knowledge. Challenging programmes provide the opportunity for development of academic skills while promoting social and interpersonal skills. A strong emphasis is placed on the development of the whole child and feelings of self-worth.
The Primary (SK-Gr. 3) curriculum is divided into distinct subject areas with Language Arts, Mathematics and French being taught on a daily basis. The Language curriculum is divided into various areas of study that include Spelling, Reading, Creative Writing and Grammar providing students with a wide range of opportunities for self expression. The Mathematics curriculum follows a base Math programme as well as a Theme Math programme which cover the complete elements of the Ontario Curriculum and its expectations. All academic material at the Primary level is once again offered at varying levels of difficulty with highly individualized assignments and expectations in every classroom.
