We are fortunate to have teams to represent our school in most sports sponsored by the PSAA. The tournaments are held at two distinct levels – Junior and Intermediate, with both girls and boys teams in most sports. The most recent addition to the PSAA roster has been the Golf tournament which proved to be very popular with our students.

Once the season has been completed we have an Athletic Awards assembly to celebrate the success of our school teams and to honour all of our athletes who have given their time, their energy and their talents to represent the school. We are very proud of them all.

As well as the competitive opportunities for students at Sommerville, the school staff also offers a variety of Intra-mural sports throughout the year. Intra-mural sports activities include soccer; floor hockey; skipping and dodge ball. Intra-mural sports take place during the lunch hour or after school and provide an opportunity for ALL interested students to participate in game situations.
