Reading Mentors
Reading Mentors is held after school for two terms each year. The programme involves Junior/Intermediate Mentors reading with a Senior Kindergarten or Grade One student in the library. The older students spend 20 to 30 minutes reading books which the younger students have selected. Often the younger students start to read to their Mentor as well. The atmosphere is very relaxed and meant to foster a love of reading.

Storybook and Craft
The Storybook and Craft club is offered to students in Senior Kindergarten each Thursday during lunch recess. Each week, the children enjoy a story that promotes discussion and imagination. The stories chosen encourage the children to develop their comprehension, creativity and enjoyment of reading. As an extension to the story, the children complete an art activity that relates to the book read.
